Frequently asked questions
How long should a title tag be?
There’s no fixed character limit — search engines truncate titles by pixel width. Keeping titles to roughly 50–60 characters, with the most important words first, reduces the chance of truncation.
Do meta keywords matter?
No. Major search engines ignore the meta keywords tag for ranking, so it’s safe to leave it out.
What does a canonical tag do?
It tells search engines which URL you consider the main version of a page when the same or similar content is available at several addresses.
