Frequently asked questions
How many URLs can a sitemap contain?
A single sitemap can list up to 50,000 URLs and must be no larger than 50 MB uncompressed. Larger sites split URLs across several sitemaps and list them in a sitemap index.
Do priority and changefreq matter?
Google has said it ignores priority and changefreq. An accurate lastmod value is more useful.
